1st Conference of Tibetan Writers Abroad PEN Centre

The 1st Conference of Tibetan Writers Abroad PEN Centre held from 19th-21st March 2000 at Sarah College for Tibetan Higher Studies, Himachal Pradesh, India. During that conference about 80 members from different places in and outside India attended, and the regulations of Tibetan Writers Abroad PEN Centre were amended and more than 10 resolutions were passed. Debates organized among the members on the issues pertained to Sino-Tibet relationship, Tibetan Literature and Preservation of Tibetan Language. The newsletter titled Chitsok Melong has been published by Tibetan Writers Abroad PEN Centre and Research Book Vol. 1 by TWAPEN members was inaugurated. Also the Excellent Writer Awards in Tibetan exile society were bestowed to Mr. Kalsang Gyamtso, Mr. Chabdrak Lhamo Kyap and Mr. Hortsang Jigme.
